This body of work explores lands that are unknown and imaginary. Combining vibrant colors and shifting perspective with abstract and representational impulses, these works explore the relationship between certainty and imagination, facts and memory. I work to build abstraction and the rhythm of these not-so-far-away places using both observations of everyday landscapes and the movement of the brush itself. These works reflect on the intersection of the nature and humanity, painting and drawing, finished and unfinished to create tension and mystery. These paintings that are meant to captivate the imagination and evoke emotion.
